     MUMBAI - One of the most populated
     and quickly growing cities in our very own
     country INDIA. The word "Mumbai" was               derived from the name of a Goddess that is           "Mumba Devi" who was worshipped by the         earliest inhabitants, The Kolis. Today, this 
     city is highly rich in culture, religion,
     customs, cuisines and fast growing                           businesses. Mumbai is referred with several         names that MUMBAI, BOMBAY and                         MAYANAGARI. This is a city full of freedom         and also a place full of opportunities.                       Mumbai is also called as 
     "A City that never Sleeps".

  CHANGES IN THE CITY OVER YEARS 

      


    From the sleepy Koli Fishing Hamlet to 
    the Financial Capital of India, Mumbai 
    has come a long way. The Portugese people
    called Mumbai as Bom Bai or "The Good 
    Bay".7 Islands namely ColabaIsle of 
    BombayMahim, MazagaonOld Woman's          IslandParel and Worli formed our city.                The city was incorporated into a newly 
    created state called "Maharashtra" on 
    6th March 1996. The city has definitely 
    developed a lot in these years, The 
    formation of Metros is one of the greatest 
    examples. 

                     POPULAR SITES


         --BANDRA WORLI SEA LINK--  

The Bandra Worli Sea Link officially known      as Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link is the 4th longest          bridge in India after Bhupen Hazarika Setu,      Mahatma Gandhi Setu and Dibang River           Bridge. It is 5.6 km long and is an 8 - lane             wide bridge that connects Bandra to the                 Western Suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in         Central Mumbai. The building of this                  
wonderful bridge started in the year 2000 and ended in the  year 2009. On 24th March 2010,  this bridge came into existence for the general public of Mumbai.                                                   
                                                                   

--GLOBAL VIPASSANA PAGODA--   
 

   The Global Vipassana Pagoda is a
   Meditation Hall near Gorai in Borivali West
   Mumbai. It is a Buddhist Temple which is a 
   best place to experience an aura of peace. It's
   height is approximately 29 meters and the 
   structure's height is 96.12 meters. The 
   Pagoda's interior is hollow and includes a 
   vast meditation ground of over 65,000 feet
   2.5 millions of stone was used in the 
   construction of this Temple. 

               

          --JAHANGIR ART GALLERY--


  If you are looking for a perfect art spot in the        district of Kala Ghoda, Jahangir Art Gallery 
  is the choice - owing to it's illustrious art and        legendary history. Jahangir Art Gallery was 
  built by Sir Cowasji Jahangir in the year 1952.    Some would say the renaissance of Indian Art      was spearheaded by this gallery. Artists like
  M.F. Hussain and Vasudev Kamat showed
  off their talent here. 


   --SHREE SIDDHIVINAYAK TEMPLE--

              

   Shree Siddhivinayak Temple located at 
   Prabhadevi is a very famous and favorite
   desire fulfilling shrine of Mumbai. This 
   Temple has a holy idol of Lord Ganesha
   It is said that the sculpture inside the temple
   is carved by a single artisan and is about 
   500 years old. Celebrities like Priyanka                 ChopraAbhishek Bachchan, Vicky
   Kaushal, etc have visited this temple. It                   appears from available sources that the
   temple has been exist here for 200 years
   and was built on 19th November 1801.


              POPULATION DENSITY 

   The Population Density of Mumbai in the             present year, 2023 is 21,296,516 that is
   2 crore 12 lakhs 96 thousand 5 hundred 
   and sixteen. But in 1950, The Population of
   Mumbai was 3,088,811 that is 30 lakhs 
   88 thousand 8 hundred and eleven
   Mumbai has grown by 335,044 in the last
   year. Mumbai city is one of the largest city in 
   India, Being the 4th most populous city in
   the world. 


                     COST OF LIVING 

   Mumbai, the most expensive city in India
   and also one of the top 20 expensive cities in
   Asia. The average cost of living in Mumbai 
   depends on several expenditures These 
   include the cost of buying or renting a living 
   spacebuying groceriescar fuelBills and 
   many more such expenses. While staying in
   Mumbai it can cost you 29 thousand to
   2.2 lakhs per month. 


    LIVING CONDITIONS IN MUMBAI

   The General Living Conditions in Mumbai 
   include more than half of the population 
   staying in slums which results in 
   overcrowding and unhygienic surroundings. 
   Mumbai has the largest slum population
   of any city in the world. Dharavi is the place
   in Mumbai which is mostly covered in slums. 


                 FUTURE PROSPECTS

   Mumbai is a fast growing country and while         living in 2023, many infrastructures can be 
   expected to be in the future. Some of the 
   hopes kept in Mumbaikar's minds are 
   Metro lines 2A and 7Vasai Creek Bridge
   Dombivli - Thane link road, etc. The Metro 
   Lines 2A and 7 will be starting from Dahisar       East and will end at Andheri East. The Vasai
   Creek Bridge will be the only link between
   Vasai - Virar and Mumbai. While the 
   Dombivli - Thane Link Road will be a 
   connection between Dombivli and Thane.


                         TASTE OF MUMBAI 

   The taste of Mumbai is appreciated by every 
   person been to Mumbai and obviously all the
   Mumbaikars. Some of the most famous food 
   items that are must try in Mumbai are 
   Vada Pav, Ragda Pattice, Bhel Puri, Pani
   Puri, Samosa, Frankie and many more such
   food items which have no limit.
